Dr. Shishuka Malhotra
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Neuro-Behavioral Clinical Research (NBCR)
has been selected as this year’s recipient of The STARR Coalition’s Lew Yagodnik Award.
The Lew Yagodnik Award represents The STARR Coalition’s highest individual honor, recognizing leaders whose commitment to advocacy, mental health research, and patient support has produced a meaningful and lasting impact. Dr. Malhotra exemplifies these values through her extensive contributions to the field. She has led more than 200 clinical trials, and under her leadership, NBCR has grown to become one of the top ten central nervous system (CNS) research facilities in the United States. Her dedication to scientific rigor, combined with a human-centered approach to care, has positioned NBCR as an organization where compassion, inclusion, and excellence guide every study.
Dr. Malhotra’s influence extends well beyond NBCR.
Her service on the boards of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the Alzheimer’s Association, and The STARR Coalition has advanced patient-centered research initiatives nationwide. In addition, she is the founder of the Ohio Center for Hope, a nonprofit organization committed to expanding access to care for individuals regardless of their circumstances.
